T D Medical College

T D Medical College was started in 1963 under the patronage of the T D Temple at Anantha Narayana Puram of Alappuzha. The initials T D stands for Thirumala Devaswom. It is the first medical college in the state started under private management. The hospital is located 9 km south of Alappuzha town, in the suburban area of Vandanam. Due to financial problems, Govt of Kerala took over the management of the institution on 17 October 1967 for five years. And the college became vested with the Govt on 17 October 1972 since the management didn't come forward to take it back. They aim to establish the institute as a Centre of Excellence in all facets of Modern Medicine to deliver the best healthcare facilities to the people. The hospital is fully equipped in all respect. And the hospital strives to raise its level to the best medical colleges and establish itself as a pioneer medical institution in the country.
